Pastor Jim Pearson

Pastor Pearson, an ordained elder in the North Carolina Annual Conference of the the United Methodist Church, is a graduate of Mainland Senior High School in Daytona Beach Florida. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida, Orlando. He earned his Master of Divinity degree at the Divinity School, Duke University in Durham.
Pastor Jim, as he likes to be recognized, was born and raised in Florida and has followed Jesus Christ for as far back as his memory takes him. He had such a love for the Lord and Savior, that he was baptized twice, and that is a story that he tells with a lot of spirit and explanation. It was this love that lead him to the ministry.
He served in the United States Marine Corps as an A-4 Skyhawk pilot for five years and twenty years in the transportation industry. He received his call from God to the ministry in his mid forties.
Pastor Jim and his wife June, who is originally from West Virginia, have been married since 1971 and have two children. They are so proud of their now adult children, who reside in Alaska and California, and are patiently waiting for God to bless them with grandchildren.
On his list of loves are praying, preaching, spiritual guidance, early church history, reading, teaching and ACC Men's basketball. He is an avid Tarheels fan, EXCEPT when they are in competition with the Blue Devils, because in his book - DUKE IS #1! They now call North Carolina home and plan to retire in Onslow County.
"One thing about the United Methodist Church - We don't leave until the job is done." -Pastor Jim Pearson
